Reading engagement and motivation
The project treats reading motivation and voluntary reading as educational assets because sustained reading increases students’ exposure to vocabulary, syntax, knowledge, narrative structure, and ideas. Additional peer-reviewed research reviews will be added here as the evidence library is expanded.
Citation standard
- Claims about current Minnesota law should link to the Minnesota Revisor of Statutes or official state sources.
- Claims about statewide standards should link to MDE or the codified administrative rule.
- Claims about academic outcomes should link to NAEP, MDE, or another primary dataset.
- Research claims should link to the original study, systematic review, or authoritative evidence synthesis whenever possible.
- Proposed curriculum and policy language should be clearly identified as a Minnesota Learning Project proposal.
